Excellent introduction to the world of social media! I agree, quality content and interactions are more important than quantity. Too often, people get obsessed with over-posting promotional information or acquiring followers, rather than focusing on developing meaningful connections with people who are truly interested in their key message. Communities are built around common values and interests. Successful social media tactics operate with that in mind.

I also like how you discuss analytics. Monitoring traffic patterns and seeing what information is drawing people in is important when you are trying to analyze best practices and the best way to use your time. Knowing what about your message attracts people helps you further hone your message, build your overall brand, and keep you focused on activities that are actually producing.
