(Weekly Recap) – Social Media, FriendFeed & Twitter

Another week has ended, and it’s a new month. So it’s time to get caught up if you haven’t been here in a while.

This is the weekly recap of posts I have written. Please visit the hyperlinks to read the posts in their full entirety.

1) I shine the spotlight on 10 FriendFeed members to follow for the month of December.

2) Google Friend Connect publicly launched. This post is a brief tutorial on the features and the implementation of Friend Connect.

3) I touch upon 15 useful Google App Engine Applications.

4) I talk a little about content syndication, and how far we’ve come.

5) This post touches on 25 different uses for FriendFeed.

6) I expand on the importance of how sharing and self promotion is always a two-way street.

That’s enough of about me.  Here are a few more solid posts that I really enjoyed, from louisgray.com and across the web.

1) Louis gives us an excellent review of PeopleBrowsr, a new visual social media dashboard.

2) Jesse Stay (Exclusive) interviews the  woman behind @BritneySpears on Twitter.

3) Rob Diana talks a little about how blogging’s future is both consolidating and expanding.

4) Adam Singer gives us 5 Reasons why you should learn about social media.

5) Kyle Lacy does a great video post on word of mouth marketing, then and now.

6) GrowMap proposes a new top ten FriendFeed friends challenge.

7) Eric Berlin advises to follow these 10 people on FriendFeed, and increase your social media powers.

8 ) Chris Brogan does an excellent video post on the importance of play and work.

9) Jason Falls talks about 10 promotional mistakes that new bloggers tend to make.

Thanks for the link. Hopefully your recognition will prompt more FF users to jump in with their own entries. It will help promote FriendFeed, help them get traffic to their own blogs and projects, and introduce them to the serious bloggers who understand the benefits of holding conversations across multiple blogs.

Thanks for including the FriendFeed challenge in your recap. Hopefully it will motivate far more bloggers and Social Media users to get involved. I wonder if they realize how popular blogs and posts continue to bring their own Web sites traffic indefinitely?

FriendFeed is getting popular and blogs that write about FF will be increasingly popular. YOUR link can greatly increase your visibility among both the public – and more importantly – your fellow bloggers who are likely to follow your links back, see what you're about, and then share YOUR Web site wherever they travel online. They are likely to link to your related posts and may even write about you – all because you took the time to leave comments in other blogs and at FF.

Entering the FriendFeed challenge benefits YOU: Discover influential FF users and bloggers, get links back to your own site, learn more about how to use FF (we've rounded up links on that too and would love to have yours!). GrowMap is a do follow blog, so all comments will have SEO benefits too.

This is YOUR personal invitation. We do hope you'll R.S.V.P.

    Internet Strategist,

Thank you. I applaud your efforts for bringing awareness to the FriendFeed community. It's nice to see what has spawned from this. I have a follow up post for your challenge in the works. Give me some time, and I'll have it published :)

Hey Mike, my blog includes content that has really helped me get going as an entrepreneur in tech.

I’m just sharing what might help a new guy who needs a hand. I’m linking to the original posts so a newbie can go by and see even more awesome content that can help them kick ass.

Its more of an appreciation of their brilliance than poaching.

    Your blog looks great.

Thanks for leaving me a comment Mike.

    Cheers Mike,

What im doing now is using tumblr as the library for all the brilliant stuff. Re-blogging everything wasnt practical and it could look bad.

Thanks for the kind words and offering a helping hand.
